a perfect combo for a startup: management skills
and knowledge in the field.

the project in the Russian market. And then break
into the USA and Europe markets.

At presale we estimated one humongous project —
Biogeek.Health. This project should’ve included the laboratoryа
tests analysis and the help of nutritionists — specialists
who help in planning the diet and changing eating habits
based on test results.
But when the clients saw the budget they
decided to cut the nutritionist part and leave
only test analysis.
Later the clients decided to implement
the nutritionist role in a new separate
project.
Now there is Biogeek.Health
where users can get the explanation of
the analysis indicators on their own and Biogeek.Expert
where users can connect with nutritionists.

Finding similar services wasn’t easy
since some of them are locked behind a
subscription and others have outdated
usability and interface.

We had to extract health indicators
from PDF files, as well as their values
and units, and then display it
on the analysis screen.
After 3 weeks of searches
we found ABBYY. It works
well with both Russian and
English languages.
We’ve tried a lot of services — we
tested Microsoft Azure, AWS Textract,
Cloud Vision API, but they didn’t
work with Russian language or
were unreasonably expensive. Tesseract
performed bad with English.
