Internet of Things (IoT) solutions

We connect software and hardware to build IoT-based mobile, web, and desktop applications

IoT services we provide

Creating interfaces for IoT systems

Sometimes, IoT integration doesn’t bring the expected profit, and the reason lies in poor UI/UX design. Users get frustrated with illogical interface structure and outdated visuals. As a result, the IoT-connected functions are used less, and investment is wasted.
We can help you create an IoT-connected app that users will enjoy. Our team can make interfaces for different platforms — whether it is a mobile app, a desktop program, or a web application.

Building comprehensive IoT business logic

With robust business logic, you can pull data from different IoT devices and unify it within a single app.
For example, we can develop a system that detects the time and triggers a signal to a smart kettle at 9:00 AM. After coffee is ready at 9:05 AM, an event-driven automation issues a command to open the curtains.

Developing IoT prototype systems in 1 month

Prototypes help test whether your software can connect to the IoT hardware you’re planning to use.
We can quickly check potential bottlenecks and help you save money before development. If there are some problems with IoT device connection along the way, we’ll suggest ways to overcome them.

Working with IoT system integrators

We partner with system integrators — major companies that offer complex IoT decisions for enterprises.
We act as subcontractors and connect software to the hardware, following the timeframes and guidelines discussed.

The EnerGO app allows users to pay for powerbank rentals. Once the user starts a transaction in the app, they can unlock the station slot to pick up a powerbank. To make this system work, we connected third-party Chinese powerbank stations with a cross-platform app.
The stations need to be autonomous. So, we worked on measures to reduce the need for technical support. For example, we carefully designed the return flow to prevent users from leaving litter inside slots.

Vending machines
QR code integration
We worked on the UI/UX and frontend for the IoT app that controls smart vending fridges. We can consider it like a new take on traditional vending solutions. Instead of selecting products througha display case, users unlock the fridge via the app, open it, choose the items, and simply take what they need. The purchase is processed automatically.
To prevent theft or misuse, we implemented a 300-second timer. Once the timer reaches zero, the backend checks the stock balance. With this feature, users can't keep the fridge open and take everything for free.

Plonq: an app for those who want to quit smoking

IoT
Bluetooth synchronization
PWA
Plonq is a manufacturer of POD systems. The client’s idea was to sync the smoking device with a mobile app to showcase users’ smoking habits. Since smoking-related apps can't be published in app stores, we developed a PWA instead.
The Android PWA was straightforward, but developing the iOS version proved tricky. We had to create a custom browser for the PWA and connect the POD system via the BLE protocol. With no similar cases available online, we contrived this solution from scratch — and nailed it. Check out what we've done for Plonq.

This app for a stun gun manufacturer is designed for emergencies. If there are concerns that securitystaff overstepped their authority, the app can provide advanced analytics of stun gun usage.
We used a microchip from a stun gun as a testing device and set up real-time data processing withinthe app. Users can view power graphs and download reports at any time.

LoRaWAN
A protocol for low-power wide-area networks. Used for IoT devices that operate over long distances. Suitable for agriculture and industrial monitoring.
 NB-IoT
A standard for cellular networks designed to work in narrowband radio channels. Features long-range communication and the ability to work in remote locations.
MQTT
A messaging protocol for creating IoT solutions. Enables instant communication between connected devices and cloud IoT platforms.
CoAP
A lightweight protocol optimized for low-power IoT devices. Often used in medical sensors and automated systems.
Zigbee
A wireless protocol used for building scalable mesh networks with low power consumption. Often used in industrial automation and healthcare.

How we approach IoT architecture

Bridge hardware and software development

We work at the intersection of the client side, server side, and IoT. This results in software IoT solutions that can effectively communicate with Internet of Things hardware components.

Prioritize scalability

Companies often reach out to us during the MVP stage to develop core functionality for the app. We build IoT solutions with future growth in mind. To do this, we create scalable architectures that can grow with an increasing user base or added features. This includes cloud computing solutions and support for various communication protocols.

Focus on flexibility

We excel at integrating Internet of Things solutions with the client’s existing systems. If your company already has software or integrated IoT solutions, we’ll analyze your setup. From there, we’ll find the best way to improve your business's operational efficiency. If things don’t go as planned, we’ll look for workarounds to integrate new IoT solutions into your business.

How we develop IoT software solutions

1

Project planning

Result: A database layout and BPMN diagram, detailing the interaction logic within the app and between the app and IoT device.
Average time frame: 70 hours
Once the budget is agreed upon and the deal is finalized, our systems analyst begins the project planning. They collect client requirements to understand what the software program and IoT devices need to do. At this stage, the project team designs the application architecture. They also create a chart outlining the system's functionality.
2

UX/UI design

Result: Completed screens of your IoT application
Average time frame: 1-1.5 months
Clients often need UX/UI design alongside development to create a complete app. We start by mapping the user flow and planning the layout of elements, buttons, and app sections. Next, we create wireframes — simplified versions of the final screens. These help clients focus on the app’s logic and suggest improvements. Once approved, we design the final screens and prepare a UI kit for developers.
3

IoT solution development

Result: A finished IoT app integrated with IoT devices.
Average time frame: 2–5 months
We divide the development process into 2-week sprints. This allows clients to track progress and quickly implement changes. At the development stage, we dive into the IoT device documentation. We then build the app, connect the software and IoT devices through an IoT platform, and run thorough testing.
4

Testing

Result: The app works on any device of the chosen platforms, and IoT devices correctly share and transmit valuable data.
Average time frame: In parallel with development
Throughout IoT application development, we continuously test the IoT software solution. This is needed to ensure everything works correctly within the app. We conduct various types of testing, including functional, usability, interoperability, performance, and system security IoT testing.
5

Support and maintenance

Result: Your IoT app is available for download, and it’s continuously improved and updated.
Once the app is launched, some bugs or problems may appear that need to be fixed quickly. We’ll help with that. Additionally, we can assist with conducting predictive maintenance for your IoT solution and expanding features after the release.
