How do you create an app that turns ordering into real magic? Our task was to design a mobile service that looks like a gift: vibrant, alive, intuitive, and memorable.
In this case study, we'll show how we developed a visual metaphor, gathered references, made flowers come to life, and created a concept in which every screen brings a smile.
We developed the concept for a large online flower delivery store — with a real task, business context, and target audience.
Before starting, we studied the market, competitor interfaces, the client's visual style, and user scenarios. We quickly realized: most apps look alike. Lots of filters, minimalist product cards, and neutral colors.

We decided to take a different path: inspire rather than overwhelm. This led to a mood board combining three accents:
✨ magic — the sense of wonder you want to give;
💖 emotions — mood instead of a catalog of items;
🆕 modernity — bold colors, trendy illustrations, and a touch of edge.
The mood board established the foundation for the app's entire visual style: from color palette and characters to the overall interface structure.

To make the app stand out and immediately evoke emotions, we developed a concise metaphor — "Share magic today." It became the unifying principle for the entire design.

The meanings we embedded in these three words:
We used vibrant visual imagery and a specific tone of voice to embed the metaphor into the interface. Instead of the dull "Your order is being processed," we used the phrase "Crafting a floral spell." Take a look at the app screens.

We chose bright, rich yet balanced shades to convey the right emotions to users:
No pastels, faded tones, or beige aesthetics: if flowers are a celebration, then the interface should be too!

For typography, we used Gilroy — it was already in the brand's identity. The font is highly readable and maintains its structure well on any screen.

We wanted our "magic" metaphor to translate into bright, memorable, and relatable imagery. When developing the visual style, we drew inspiration from fairy tales and cartoons — like “Beauty and the Beast,” where objects come alive and help the protagonists.

We borrowed this personification technique and gave our characters a voice. Each character has their own personality and role, and they all seem eager to tell you a bit about themselves 🙂

The mascots are easily scalable: they can be animated, incorporated into patterns, used in marketing and communications. The visual style becomes flexible and recognizable.
First impressions matter most, so we created an animated scene for the loading screen: a flower from the bouquet comes to life and starts living in the recipient's home.
The animation loops — you can watch it endlessly or proceed to the interface immediately. We tested the scene with users and colleagues — and received great feedback. People said the character inspires trust, and the approach itself creates a feeling that the app was made with care.
The home screen serves as the main entry point and selection scenario. We made it light, visual, and action-oriented:

We left space for seasonal banners, loyalty programs, and quick search — so everything important is within the user's view.
The product card is simply structured: full-screen bouquet photo, clear options, and two choice scenarios — "Buy now" or "Add to cart."

This addresses both needs:
Here's what the character from the product card has to say: they know exactly how this app works inside — after all, they live in it! 😀

When a user places an order, they should feel like everything is under control. So we made the order screen as transparent as possible — all information visible: where the order is going, the expected delivery time, and the contents of the order.
We added:

This screen is an especially powerful example of the metaphor: an order is an action and magic all at once. All that's left is waiting for the order to reach the recipient!
We developed a visual concept for a mobile app for a flower delivery service. It features:
The concept is warm, modern, and flexible. It can be implemented piece by piece, developed, scaled… and it's definitely unforgettable ❤️
