FREE LIFE
Application for Continuous Glucose Monitoring
For people with diabetes, sugar control is part of everyday life. The Freelife app automates the routine:
- receives data from the Libre sensor in real-time,
- displays it on a graph,
- allows logging meals, medications, and other daily events,
- helps to see correlations.
Instead of paper records — a convenient tool, easy to understand from the first launch.
The application checks Bluetooth, prompts to bring the transmitter close to the sensor, and shows the connection status. Simple steps on the screen — without technical complexities.
The main screen displays the current glucose level, a graph over a period, spikes, and dynamics. It updates automatically.
Quickly add entries: glucometer readings, carbohydrates, dosages, meals, and other indicators. Compact forms without unnecessary actions.
70–80% of the logic is on native code (Swift/Kotlin). React Native is used for UI, native modules for Bluetooth, synchronization, databases, and graphs. Critical infrastructure is handled at the native level.
Automatic reconnection, data retrieval every 5 minutes in the background, offline synchronization. On iOS — works in minimized mode, on Android — even after reboot.
We wrote native graphs for iOS and Android. Instant rendering, smooth scaling, correct handling of gaps.
The developer and tester wore sensors under the skin for 10–14 days. They checked Bluetooth stability, graph functionality, and data accuracy in real conditions.
We created a mobile application for glucose monitoring — simple, predictable, and requiring no technical knowledge. It works as needed by the user every day.
We laid a scalable architecture and thoughtful design. The product can be developed without the risk of breaking the foundation. The Freelife team has a stable base for the next stages of development.
