Invisible War

Client

The founder of Invisible War — an open-world online game where users command fighters and conquer territories — reached out to us.

About the project

The client asked us to create an engaging landing page with animations that would clearly showcase the game's features.

The game was still in development at the time — the founder wanted to show the landing to investors and gauge the number of interested players.

Goals

World map with topographical details

Choosing a concept

The client wanted the hero page to feature a video that pulls visitors into the game's atmosphere and shows off the visuals. The team prepared three concepts.

The world through a character's eyes

To create a sense of presence and add dynamics, we made a first-person animation. Then the camera zooms out and the player sees the battle from above.

Top-down view and interactive elements

We see the world from above, then a plane appears that can "drop" a projectile onto a chosen target. This effect gives the user the feeling they're already in the game.

02

Scale of the battles

In the last concept we wanted to show that battles can happen anywhere in the world. We chose a perspective as if we were watching events from space.

03

Map highlighting regions in invisible war context

We discussed the ideas with the client and decided to combine the first and third concepts.

First, the player sees the action from a first-person view, then the camera rises and shows the planet from space.

The video plays automatically as soon as you land on the site. During testing, however, we noticed the video wouldn't play if the user had an ad-blocker installed. We solved it by adding a Play button in the center of the screen.

After the video comes an overview with gameplay animations
— to showcase the game's features.

At the end of the video and at the bottom of the page we added a CTA button. Players can leave their email to subscribe to updates.
